I am in a Year 5 and 6 class called Tuatara at Mangonui School and my teacher is Mrs Lloyd

What is your highlight for this year?
WALT: Work independently on a personal interest project.
Me and my class had to choose out of a range of categories and write facts about it. So I chose Avani Gregg.
I chose green and black because those are some of her favorite colors.
Who is your favorite influence?
WALT: Connect with Papatūānuku by exploring our local area.
On Tuesday and Wednesday Kowhai Kotuku and Tuatara class (my class) went for a trip to Taipa beach for surfing. The waves on Tuesday were bigger then Wednesdays and I stood up more on Tuesday. Before we went to school me and my friends went to the end of the beach and found heaps of small and big crabs.
It was very funny looking at all the embarrassing and cool photos of my friends.
Have you ever been on a school trip.
WOW - Research the word phenomena and learn it's meaning. Find different natural phenomena around the world and plot it on a Google Map. Choose one phenomena and create a mosaic drawing to illustrate it.
Reflection: The font is my favorite and also I liked the gradient background my one wish is that I could do words that don't have graph in it.

WALT: Writing - Use summarizing skills and key vocabulary to write a paragraph relating to the text.
Me and my class had to write a postcard to a classmate I wrote to Ratapu Peterson.
Reflection: My two stars were that I liked the first page where it says city of sails and I also like the stamp that I used which was a Kiwi. Next time I hope I can do better designs on the sails.
What will finally break the internet?
WALT: Use Google Sheets to create and interpret time series graphs.
Me and my class had to make a google sheet on our drives and go onto met service to choose one city in the north island and south island so I got to choose Whangarei and Dunedin.
Reflection: I think it was a tiny bit hard to keep on finding the degrees and then when I find them I had to go from one page to the other. Next time I hope we would be able to write more but I like the colors of the text box.
What country do you want to visit the most?
WALT:Make connections between fractions, decimals and percentages.
Me and my class learnt how to make the simplest form of fractions and how to compare decimals to percentages and fractions.
Reflection: It was difficult to find where the 25 and 75 goes and next time I wish I could have a bigger number line so I could write more stuff. I like how I done the numbers nice and big.
What is the 0.7 in a percentage.
WALT: WOW - Find the word 'climate' and 'weather' in the dictionary and learn it's meaning. Find the causes and effects of climate change.
Reflection: I had trouble trying to name the ways it could effect the earth and next time I think I could write more things down. I like the drawing that I made.
What's the difference between climate change and global warming?
WALT: Use 2D shapes and the poly line tool to create mosaic art on Google Drawings.
Reflection: Next time I would improve more on the arrow and the spiral but other then that I like the heart.
What is your favorite country?
WALT: Reading - Make inferences using the clues in the text along with your own experiences to help you figure out what is not directly said.
Reflection: It was hard doing the last one next time I think I could improve by adding more detail to why I think so bit. I like the way that I thought about them.
What's your favorite book?
WALT: Reading - Read narrative texts and engage higher order thinking skills.
Reading the synopsis was sort of hard because USA was segregated. It's good to know that now it isn't happening anymore or is it.
WALT: Calendar Art - Create 3D digital images on Google drawings and a blended background for calendar art.
Me and my class Tuatara started our calendar art to sell for our school and hope you like my google drawing.
Reflection: It was easy painting the background and taking the photo but hard to draw my dog.
